Cassiopeia
Jan 13, 2025
Do you remember the scent
Of patchouli perfume?
Yellow flowers in bloom
Now sickly and putrid.
Do you know where she went,
The woman in the French Room
And does she know what you did?
Was she ever even real
Or just a make-believe façade
A simulacrum that God
Had no part in making?
Unmasked to reveal
A smirk and a nod
When asked, “Were you faking?”
I gaze at the stars
And ask them the question
“Have I now learned the lesson?”
But still I've no idea
How Venus and Mars
Could commit the transgression
Of eclipsing Cassiopeia.
